Happy 4th of July 2014

This year was really low key for my family. My parents were out of town and my other siblings were busy, so we decided to have some good old family time by our-selves. We started out our day by going to the 4th of July parade. The kids really enjoyed sitting and watching all the fire trucks along with all the horses. Though it was really hot it was actually one of the better parades for vernal. (Not a lot of advertisements just good old floats). Here are some pictures....

After the Parade got over we decided that we were a little over heated and so we decided to take the kids to the swimming pool. We spent like 3 hours at the pool and had a blast. Here are my cute two little fish that just love the water.

After swimming we took the kids home to have a little nap and get ready for our house BBQ and fireworks that were going to go on that night. Before we headed to the park that night we had to stop by Sonic for our favorite Cherry Limeade to take to drink while we watched the fireworks. I was actually really impressed with my kids this year, they were not scared of the fireworks. It was nice just to enjoy the fireworks without screaming kids this year. We sure had fun...Enjoy our firework pictures.

 It was actually nice just spending time as a family. Happy 4th of July 2014!

Building a Sandbox!

So we promised the kids that we would build them the Sandbox. So we finally kept our promise and the kids were thrilled about it. Along with building our sandbox we also decided to try our hand at planting a garden. We don't really know how it will turn out but we are excited to see. Here are some of our fun pictures....

Vacation Time! May 2014.

This year we decided to take the kids to Salt Lake City and go to the Zoo, aquarium and visit family before we could not go anywhere due to us getting ready for the new baby. So after school got out, we packed the car and headed to my sister Jennie's house. There we did some shopping and went to Hogle Zoo on Memorial Day with my sister and her family. Here are some of the cute pictures we took.

 

After we had seen all of the animals we took the kids on the carousel. The kids loved it. They had so much fun that we took them again before walking back to the entrance. 

 After we went to the Zoo then we spent some time with my sister Jennie. We even had her take some new family photos. Here is one that I got to preview. They are sure cute.

After spending some time with Jennie we went down to Justin's brother's house and spent some time with them. While there we went to a chocolate factory, swimming at a rec center, and we went to the new aquarium. Kids had a blast and so did we. I am glad that we got to spend some special time with just Leah and Keyan before the baby is born.

Landscaping Time!!!

Landscaping time!!! We have been waiting for this day in over a year and a half. Our House if Finally Finished with all the USDA Stuff....YEA!. When we finished our house last year it was to cold to finish the landscaping so we all opted to finish this spring when we could plant grass and flower beds and not have them die in the winter. So the time finally came and Justin and I spent a ton of time trying to figure out what we wanted, We decided that we needed a flower bed out front because the sprinklers would not water right next to the foundation. So I opted for a rock bed with some bushes that will look cute....and that is low maintenance. I am not a big flower fan as most of you know. So this was perfect for me. So when it got closer Justin and I found some brick and decide where we wanted the flower bed to go. Then Allreds came and leveled out our yard for us so that we could get ready to plant grass...Here are some pictures....

 Considering we were planing grass in three days we decided that we needed to finish the rock bed in front. I found these cute shrubs at Lowes and we decided they would be really good for the front of the house. So we sent one night laying down weed barrier and then planting shrubs. The next day our rock was delivered at our house. So we finished the flower bed and started smoothing out rock on one side of the driveway. 

 This Saturday May 3, 2014 our Sod Arrives. YEA....Earlier in the week we had asked ward members to come and help and I could not believe how many had shown up. We had at least 20 ward members show up and help us lay sod for 6 houses. We started at 8 am and was done by 11am. We could not have done it without them. Also, my parents, brothers, and ShaNae came to help. Thank you so much for all your love and support. 

 Here is the finished project...yea! 

Our fence will be finished come Tuesday then we will have to move to the back yard and finish that...A ton of projects...but I will keep you posted on all of our fun activities this summer...YEA!
